Jose Mourinho wants Gjanni Alioski at Roma after his Leeds departure

Jose Mourinho wants Gjanni Alioski at Roma following his Leeds United exit, according to Calcio In Pillole journalist Ekrem Konur.

The Twitter-verified journalist has claimed on his personal account that the Portuguese manager is keen on the North Macedonian and Roma have held talks with his agent amid other interest from AC Milan and Napoli.

According to The Athletic, Alioski was “offered generous terms to renew” by Leeds, but it was not enough to convince him to stay at Elland Road.

Good move for Roma

Director of Football Victor Orta wanted the left-back to stay despite sealing a move for Junior Firpo [The Mirror], but he had other plans.

Almost all Leeds fans would have been glad had Alioski extended his Yorkshire stay, but we have to admit that a move to Roma would be perfect for him.

Mourinho loves passionate and relentless players, and would be getting one in the Whites hero should a move work out.

While there were often question marks over his defending, it cannot be denied that the 29-year-old gave his all in a Leeds shirt.

We do not know exactly why Alioski was not keen on an extension, but he probably wants to have a taste of European football at club level, and that could be secured at Roma.

Napoli and Milan are also offering that chance, and we believe he has what it takes to turn out for any of them.

Alioski and Mourinho would be a match made in heaven if a Roma move works out, and we will definitely be monitoring his progress wherever he decides to go this summer.
