Jose Mourinho to Leeds United prospect raised after what’s been said about Daniel Farke
Daniel Farke will be under the most pressure he’s ever faced as Leeds United manager this season.
The job of keeping Leeds in the Premier League is by far the biggest challenge that Farke has undertaken in his managerial career to date, and there are doubts as to whether the German can do so.
Farke was disappointed with the end of Leeds’ transfer window, as United failed to make more additions to their forward line, making his job this season that much harder.
Despite leading Leeds to the Premier League just last season, Farke will be aware of the pressure he is under, considering the quality of managers who are currently out of a job, including Jose Mourinho.

Leeds a possible destination for Jose Mourinho after Daniel Farke concerns
Leeds return to action as they take on Fulham this weekend.
Although the Whites have amassed four points from their opening three games, the manner in which they have done so has been concerning, with Leeds being completely blunt in the final third.
The way United have looked so far is not a sustainable way of staying in the division, and with Mourinho being linked with the Leeds job in the past, the iconic manager could end up at Elland Road if Farke cannot find a way to improve performances.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 10 September, Alex Crook claimed that with Nuno Espirito Santo and Mourinho currently without clubs, a few managers will be “looking nervously over their shoulders”.
Graham Potter at West Ham will undoubtedly be one, with Crook saying: “West Ham obviously have been largely disappointing since Graham Potter came in.”
“The other one that springs to mind is Leeds,” Crook continued.
“Obviously, there are reservations about whether Daniel Farke can cut it in the Premier League,” with Crook claiming this could potentially open the door for a blockbuster move that could see the “brilliant” Mourinho land in West Yorkshire.
49ers to take the bulk of the blame if Leeds are relegated
No matter who is in the dugout at Elland Road this season, they would find it hard to keep Leeds in the Premier League with their current attacking lineup.
Leeds’ current attacking options:
- Willy Gnonto (winger)
- Noah Okafor (winger)
- Dan James (winger)
- Jack Harrison (winger)
- Brenden Aaronson (attacking midfielder)
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin (striker)
- Lukas Nmecha (striker)
- Joel Piroe (striker)
Given the fact that Okafor, Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha all have troubling injury records, Farke could be forced to deploy an attack that he would have used last season in the Championship.
This ultimately falls on the 49ers, and no matter who is in charge, it is a struggle to see where the goals are going to come from in this Leeds side.
