Jose Mourinho could be in line to become Leeds United manager in the near future.

The Whites are hopeful of earning promotion to the Premier League this campaign ahead of Sheffield United and Burnley.

Back-to-back draws have had a frustrating impact at Elland Road as Daniel Farke comes under pressure with just nine games remaining.

Looking ahead to the summer, a change could be made to bring Mourinho to LS11 if promotion is secured this season.

Mourinho could replace Farke at Leeds United

The German head coach is heading towards the end of his second year in charge in Yorkshire but is now facing similar issues to his first.

Last campaign, his side missed out on promotion at the hands of Southampton in the playoff final and will be hopeful of automatics this season.

Even with that being said, Andy Goldstein has suggested that pulling the sack trigger on Farke could prove to be a wise decision at Elland Road.

If that “evil” move is made by the hierarchy at Thorp Arch, three-time Premier League winner Mourinho has been mooted as a dream option.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (4 April, 06:12pm), he said: “If Leeds come up to the Premier League, we came up with an unbelievable fit for who their manager should be. It’s Jose Mourinho.

“Everyone hates Leeds and everyone hates Jose. Jose needs to go to a sleeping giant, a big club. They would adore Jose, he’s Bielsa-like.

“If you’re coming back into the Premier League, you’d have to be an evil owner to say, ‘Thanks for getting us up, thanks for making us like £200m but we’re going to let you go.’ Awful.”

Mourinho could be excellent for Leeds United

Sometimes, a brave decision is the right decision and that could be the case for Leeds.

It would be devastating to Farke to be sacked after two seasons of hard work to get promoted but a change could prove to be necessary.

Promoted sides in recent years have all been relegated straight back to the Championship and the Whites won’t want to face a similar fate.

This could see Mourinho become a dream appointment in LS11 as survival and growth is targeted in the Premier League.

There aren’t many more experienced names than the Portuguese head coach and he could be the perfect fit in West Yorkshire.

Fans will now await a decision from the hierarchy if promotion is earned but will wait as a clash against Luton Town awaits.
