Jordan Miles update at Leeds United after new staff developments

Jordan Miles is set to depart Leeds United to pursue a new opportunity elsewhere, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The news outlet reports [11 November] that the Whites’ head of recruitment has exited, and follows Gertar Steinsson leaving the club and taking a new role with the 49ers Enterprises.

Miles was hired by the Peacocks back in February this year after his stint at Aberdeen, but Alex Davies will now take over his duties.

Leeds United need stability at the top

Daniel Farke has done well during his time at Leeds so far, although the Elland Road faithful will want to see their team get back in the Premier League.

The 2-0 win over QPR in the Championship on 9 November will undoubtedly help the team in their bid for automatic promotion, but the Whites have been inconsistent in recent weeks.

Injuries haven’t helped the German manager’s cause at the Peacocks, with key players like Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev and Daniel James picking up injuries early on in the season.

Leeds’ squad depth has been tested, and there are obvious weaknesses in that regard, which goes to show that the recruitment department could’ve done more this summer.

One example is the lack of centre-backs in the team, with Pascal Struijk, Joe Rodon and Max Wober the only senior options available.

Josuha Guilovogui signed for the Whites on a free transfer recently, and the midfielder has given Farke a much-needed option to call upon in the engine room.

It remains to be seen how the reshuffle at the top will affect them going forward, but there will be hope among the fanbase that the ownership has things under control.
