Jonathan Leko sends two-word Instagram message to Leeds star

Jonathan Leko has dubbed Tyler Roberts as “lethal” after the Leeds United forward scored twice in Saturday’s 4-0 win against Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

Roberts, 21, came off the bench to replace Patrick Bamford in the second half and wasted no time in making an impact as he scored two good goals to help the Whites secure a huge victory on Humberside.

The Wales international rightly received a lot of plaudits for his two-goal cameo and among those congratulating him on Instagram was West Brom’s Leko.

Leko, 20, rose through the ranks of West Brom’s academy alongside Roberts and although they now play for rival teams at the top-end of the Championship, it seems they still have a good friendship.

But Leko’s message to Roberts comes at a time where the former Charlton loanee has found his accusations about Kiko Casilla racially abusing him to be proven.

It was announced on Friday that Casilla, 33, would serve an eight-match ban for racially abusing Leko while he was on loan at The Valley back in September.

Still, the animosity shown towards Leko by some Leeds fans has not stopped him from sending a message to his former team-mate on Instagram.

“Lethal Tyro,” said the England Under-20 international, who is currently out injured for the rest of the season.

As you can see in the screenshot, Leko’s comment has been replied to 15 times and most of those comments are unfortunately hitting out at the Baggies youngster for reporting racial abuse from a fellow professional.

We do not know all the facts about the case just yet but forget tribalism for a moment and realise that this is a young man who believes he was racially abused while doing his job.

He does not need people abusing him for that.

In other Leeds United news, Don Goodman’s prediction about United came true a lot sooner than he would have thought.
