Jon Newsome wowed live on BBC at what Leeds United did v Cardiff City – ‘Wonderful’
Jon Newsome could not believe his eyes at what he saw from the “wonderful” Leeds United players in their 3-0 win over Cardiff City on Saturday (13 January).
The Whites were looking to close the gap between themselves and Ipswich Town in second place in the Championship table to just four points with a win in Wales and made easy work of their job racing to a two-goal first-half lead.
Goals from Patrick Bamford and Dan James in what was a comfortable half for the Whites as they comfortably got the job done with their second successive Championship win.

And Newsome, speaking live on BBC Radio Leeds (13 January) could not believe what he saw from the Leeds United players with their “wonderful” attacking football that left the Cardiff City defence in an “absolute mess”.

He said: “Cardiff are not even laying a glove on us, they really are at sixes and sevens. They are in an absolute mess.
“We are playing around corners, flicks and tricks, it is wonderful to see.
Tremendous
When Leeds United are in the sort of mood they showed in that first half at the Cardiff City stadium, they are simply unstoppable and a real joy to watch.
The Whites fans have been accustomed to watching Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter, Dan James and Crysencio Summerville completely dismantle defences but it was Bamford in amongst the action in Wales.

The Leeds United striker has been superb in his last three games scoring three goals and what Farke has said to him to change his fortunes at Elland Road around has proven a stroke of genius.
The former Middlesbrough forward looks certainly back to his best and is contributing heavily to the tremendous football we’re seeing from the Leeds United players in recent weeks.
If the Whites can perform like this for much of the second half of the campaign then they are well on their way to achieving their Premier League ambitions. Their job is made that much easier with Bamford in this great run of form and skills, technical attributes and pace of James, Rutter and Summerville behind him.
