Joel Piroe shares ‘failure’ verdict in Leeds United promotion claim
Joel Piroe has opened up on his dream ambition at Leeds United ahead of the final eight games of the campaign.
After the disappointment of last season, the pressure is on Daniel Farke to ensure that Leeds don’t fall at the last hurdle again in the current campaign.
Promotion is edging closer for Leeds, but one win in their last four has prevented the Whites from pulling away from the chasing duo of Sheffield United and Burnley.
Throughout the season, Piroe has played a crucial role at Elland Road, and his ambitions for the season are very clear.

Leeds United must achieve promotion this season
Not only would it be a disastrous collapse if Leeds fail to get promoted, but it would be a huge disappointment based on the previous campaign in which they came so close to making a return to the Premier League.
As disappointing as it was, it will have provided the players with that added incentive to ensure it isn’t replicated this season, with Piroe’s feelings on the matter as evident as ever as per an interview with ESPN.NL (25 March).
The Dutchman said: “To be honest, I don’t see failure as an option. We can’t let promotion slip away. It’s a huge dream to play in the Premier League. It’s the toughest competition there is.”
Championmship 24/25 | W | D | L | P |
Leeds | 23 | 11 | 4 | 80 |
Sheffield United | 25 | 7 | 6 | 80 |
Burnley | 21 | 15 | 2 | 78 |
It is that exact mentality which will be crucial ahead of the final run-in if Leeds are to be successful in their bid to make a return to the top flight.
As it stands, the Whites are level on points with Sheffield United and two above Burnley, though both of them still have an encounter against each other to come.

Farke has no excuses this season
Leeds cannot afford to miss out on promotion this season, and given the position they are in, it would be inexcusable if they were to do so.
Momentum will be key for the Whites ahead of the final run-in, and Farke needs to ensure that he plays his role in this period to ensure that they get over the finish line.
