Joel Piroe admitted it was the perfect start to his Leeds United career after scoring on his debut in the victory over Ipswich Town on Saturday (26 August).

The Dutch forward, who completed his move from Swansea City on Thursday (24 August), scored the third goal in the Whites' 4-3 win at Portman Road.

After the game, the 24-year-old took to Instagram to express his delight at getting on the scoresheet, as he said: "Couldn’t wish for a better start - first win and goal. Let’s keep on working for more!"

What a start

It was a fantastic start to life with Leeds for Piroe after he scored his first goal for the club just 19 minutes into his debut against Ipswich.

That helped guide the Whites towards earning three points as it provided them with a two-goal lead in the game after they scored three times in nine minutes despite going behind early on to the hosts.

The forward joined the club for £16million, which is a big transfer fee in the Championship, but he is already well on his way to paying back that money after his performance on his debut.

Daniel Farke has been desperate to add a new striker to his side to improve his attacking options and it appears as though he has now got the perfect man.

There's no doubt that the Whites' fans will be looking forward to seeing much more of Piroe as he aims to help the club fight for a promotion place this season.
