Joe Rodon ‘wanted’ by Premier League club after manager admission
Joe Rodon has been one of Leeds’ standout players at the start of the Premier League season.
Rodon grabbed his first Premier League goal for Leeds against Bournemouth with a brilliant header to draw his side level.
Troy Deeney was full of praise for Rodon, with the Welshman’s performance on Saturday being recognised far and wide.
He now faces his former side, Tottenham, in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, with Leeds looking for their second home win of the season.
Rodon has become an important leader he has become in the Leeds dressing room, and his international manager is another who recognises his value.

Joe Rodon was wanted by Craig Bellamy at Burnley
Rodon grabbed his first-ever international goal for Wales when he found the net against Liechtenstein in June.
The defender has been called into Wales’ most recent squad for games against England and Belgium, and Wales manager Craig Bellamy revealed how he had wanted to sign him at his former job.
Bellamy was Vincent Kompany’s assistant at Burnley and has said the Clarets looked at signing Rodon.
He said: “He’s a player I’ve had my eye on, and when we were at Burnley, we wanted to bring him in.”
Bellamy also went on to praise Rodon’s quality and how he feels he belongs at the Premier League level.
” I have always felt he was a player for that high level, and what we’re seeing now is that player.”
Rodon has proven to be key for Wales across his 54 caps, and he continues to show his value for his club side as well.
Joe Rodon continues to prove his worth for Leeds
Rodon was brilliant against Bournemouth at both ends of the pitch, leading from the back and getting his goal.
His partnership with Pascal Struijk at the heart of the defence has been fantastic and has kept out new signings Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw from the team
- Rodon joined Leeds for £10million from Tottenham after a successful loan spell at Elland Road
- He played in all 46 games in the Championship last season and every Premier League game this season
- Rodon made 15 appearances for Tottenham, who he will face this weekend
Leeds will continue to rely on the 27-year-old as one of their key players for Premier League survival, and his early-season form really shows how important he is.
