Joe Rodon shares new Ethan Ampadu image after wild Leeds United scenes

Joe Rodon has shared a fresh image of Ethan Ampadu, who was the centre of attention as Leeds United celebrated winning the Championship title.

Leeds won the Championship with 100 points after Manor Solomon’s last-gasp winner in a 2-1 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park (3 May) saw the Whites overtake Burnley on goal difference.

Players and staff from Leeds celebrated their Championship title success during an open-top bus parade through the city centre on Monday (5 May), with fans convening for a day of celebration.

However, some players perhaps got slightly carried away, with Ampadu attracting a lot of attention for his hilarious antics, which saw him at the centre of some surprising moments.

Ampadu landed himself in hot water with several chants he started during the parade, one of which appeared to suggest that Junior Firpo is set to depart Leeds.

However, Rodon posted a picture of Ampadu on his Instagram story (6 May), which appears to suggest that the 24-year-old has recovered well from the celebrations.

Ampadu’s importance to Leeds

Ampadu has occasionally struggled with injuries this season, limiting him to just 29 appearances in the Championship, but he has become an important player for Daniel Farke.

The centre-back has also pushed up into a defensive midfield role at times, and it remains to be seen which position he will be selected in for the Premier League next season.

Ampadu had a few years of struggle after a bright start at Chelsea. However, the 24-year-old has found his feet at Leeds and is a popular player at Elland Road.

The defender is Leeds’ club captain and is an important leader both on and off the pitch, and he will forever be etched in the history books as a promotion-winning skipper for the Whites.
