Jim White shares Leeds United transfer news live on talkSPORT, 'this is happening'
TalkSPORT presenter Jim White shared live on air that Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams’ move to Bournemouth is happening.
Speaking live on air (18 August), White shared the news in response to Alex Crook’s tweet that a deal had been agreed between Bournemouth and Leeds for which Adams will now undergo a medical ahead of his move to the Vitality Stadium.
Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano also shared on his personal Twitter account (18 August), that medical had been booked in London today and that a deal could be finalised in the next 24 hours.
And White, speaking live on talkSPORT (18 August, 10:55am) said: “Tyler Adams to Bournemouth! This is happening isn’t it?”
Crooks responded, providing the latest update saying: It is! A medical is booked for this afternoon, Tyler Adams, one of a number of Leeds players who had a release clause allowing him to leave.
“Daniel Farke has been bemoaning just how badly the football club is run.
“£20m is the release clause, Bournemouth triggered it on Monday, that news burst here on talkSPORT and the USA captain set to become the latest arrival at the South Coast, will be a direct replacement for Jefferson Lerma, who of course let his contract run down and joined Crystal Palace.”
Farewell
After Chelsea backed out of a deal to sign Adams a few days ago, there may well have been some optimism that Adams may be potentially staying at Elland Road beyond the summer.
However, there was always the chance another Premier League club would swoop in and trigger the release clause and it’s probably not a surprise to see Bournemouth activate it given their previous interest earlier in the window.
Leeds boss Daniel Farke has already seen several crucial players leave Elland Road this summer and arguably the likeliest to seek pastures new is now finally on the verge of following those players out of the club.
After weeks of rumours and talks regarding Adams’ future, the Leeds United faithful can finally say an unfortunate farewell to a player who was always destined to seek pastures new following the club’s relegation and Bournemouth have certainly picked up another impressive transfer.
It’s a major surprise Adams’ inevitable exit has taken this long but his current hamstring injury was indeed a huge factor in his delayed exit and it seems as if the Cherries are now taking a punt on the American with the former Leipzig midfielder seemingly not close to a return for another couple months.
Just how Leeds United plan to replace Adams is yet another problem for Farke to navigate through.
In other Leeds United, one Elland Road-linked forward is set to miss out on Friday’s crucial encounter as Leeds take on West Brom at Elland Road.
