Jim White shares Leeds United promotion verdict despite Blackburn Rovers loss
Jim White has shared that he has a “good feeling” about Leeds United winning promotion from the Championship this season.
Speaking on talkSPORT (2 December, 11:40am), White and Simon Jordan debated the Whites’ promotion chances 18 matches into a gruelling, 46-game Championship campaign.
Daniel Farke’s side were well below their usual levels in the 1-0 loss at Blackburn on 30 November, yet they remain third and just three points behind Sheffield United at the top.
Discussing who is best-placed to earn automatic promotion and win the league, White said: “I’ve got a good feeling about Leeds.”
Leeds United must bounce back from Blackburn disappointment
The Peacocks’ third defeat of the season came in a depressingly similar manner to their previous two against Burnley and Millwall, conceding the first goal and then failing to break their opponents down.
In all three instances, that opening goal has proven to be the decisive one, and though Farke’s side have been far from dominated in any of these games, their loss at Ewood Park was the most worrying yet.

Todd Cantwell’s winner from the spot came following a penalty which had seen United and the usually-dependable Ao Tanaka caught cold on the counter, following an early wave of pressure from the hosts.
It’s rare that the opposition has better chances to win a game than Leeds do, but with Rovers hitting the bar early on and having two further efforts blocked late on, that was certainly the case on Saturday.
Farke’s side have shown a perchance for bouncing back from defeats so far this season, but as all three losses came in similar fashion, teams are fast-developing a blueprint to make the Whites come undone.
