Jim White questions Leeds United fans after Elland Road footage emerges in 6-1 loss v Liverpool
Jim White has questioned the Elland Road faithful for leaving early during Liverpool’s 6-1 demolition of Leeds United on Monday evening.
Jurgen Klopp’s side produced a fine attacking performance to inflict another damaging defeat on Javi Gracia’s side and leave the Whites firmly in the relegation equation.
Large swathes of Elland Road departed the ground before the final whistle and White has since reacted to the mass exodus (footage from Football Daily, 17 April).
“Leeds United, you must be concerned? The fans must be concerned,” said White (talkSPORT White and Jordan, 10:09, 18 April).
“We could see it at the end, can the fans be forgiven for leaving early? Let’s put it out to Leeds fans who left early last night, where’s your head this morning?”
Unacceptable
The fans can be forgiven for throwing in the towel early. You cannot blame the Elland Road faithful for leaving after seeing their side conceded eleven goals in just two games. It’s extremely concerning and it feels as if the players have to take some responsibility.
Defensively, Leeds are a shambles and if they are relegated, their leaky backline will be responsible. You cannot concede five-plus goals in consecutive fixtures and be expected to survive. Changes are desperately required and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Max Wober reintroduced to the starting XI for the upcoming fixture against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

The West Londoners are coming off an impressive win against Everton to bring their four-game losing run to an end. Marco Silva’s side are enjoying an excellent return to the Premier League and are free from the pressures of relegation.
They will play with plenty of freedom and could cause the Whites more problems unless something significant changes at the heart of the defence.
