Jim Beglin stunned by Leeds United fans who left midway through Arsenal game

Jim Beglin was surprised by a section of the Leeds United fans that decided to walk out of Elland Road during the 4-1 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.

The Whites started the game woefully and within the first half hour, found themselves down by three goals.

After the third goal, Jim Proudfoot, on the Premier League world feed, was in awe of the Leeds support for chanting despite their team getting outplayed on the field.

However, Beglin, a BT Sport pundit, had a slightly nuanced take. He said, “There’s no audible dissent among the Leeds faithful but some seem to be leaving rather early. Bielsa, who’s been looking glum, will not be too thrilled by this.”

Disgrace

Fans that walk out in the first half because their team starts badly are a disgrace and must not be supporting their club.

They’re only there for the good times when everything seems jolly, but the moment the chips are down, they turn their backs.

Players tend to lean on the fans as their 12th man when they’re chasing games and it’s delightful to see a majority of the fans staying and chanting until the very last kick of the game.

Things are certainly not right and Bielsa does need to change things around quickly.

Hopefully, January offers a good chance for the Whites to sign a central midfielder and possibly another attacker.

They are clearly in a relegation battle and need all the ammunition available to get out of it.
