Jesse Marsch wowed by Leeds United trio on Twitter despite loss v Wolves

Jesse Marsch has showered heaps of praise on three Leeds United young talents despite their 1-0 defeat against Wolves in the Carabao Cup clash in midweek.

The Whites boss made a raft of changes to the side against Wolves, and started with talented youngsters like Darko Gyabi, Matteo Joseph, and Sonny Perkins.

Marsch mentioned all three of them on Twitter and he was left impressed with how these youngsters played with so much confidence.

Marsch wrote on Twitter: “The result wasn’t what we wanted last night but it was great to see Mateo, Sonny, and Darko play with such confidence. The future is bright!!”

Bright future

Leeds have a great reputation for blooding young talents from the academy. Marcelo Bielsa did that too, giving opportunities to players like Charlie Cresswell and Joe Gelhardt.

Marsch appears to be the kind of manager who is equally keen to nurture young talents.

The likes of Cry Summerville and Sam Greenwood are already a part of the first-team squad, and it won’t be long before we could see the likes of Perkins, Joseph and Gyabi playing regularly for the senior side as well.

The cup competitions are good opportunities to develop these young talents. Hopefully, they will get more opportunities in the future.

Perkins, 18, who joined from West Ham in the summer, has been in tremendous form this season, scoring eight goals already for the youth team.

Despite the defeat, Leeds fans will be very pleased with the efforts put up by the youngsters.

The focus now shifts back to the Premier League and the Whites will look to win the final game before the World Cup against Tottenham away from home.

In other Leeds United news, this Elland Road chief has been blasted by a Sky Sports pundit after footage emerged on social media.
