Jesse Marsch will surely be fuming at Leeds United defender Junior Firpo after fresh Elland Road development
Jesse Marsch surely will be losing patience with Leeds United defender Junior Firpo given his woeful injury record since he joined Elland Road midway through the 2021/22 campaign.
The former Barcelona defender was expected to address the woes at left-back after Gjanni Alioski departed at the end of the 2020/21 season.
However, his form has been woeful whenever he’s been available and when not, he has struggled a great deal to maintain his fitness.

On 4 December, Leeds announced via their official website, that he’s picked up another injury, this time it being a groin strain.
He is expected to join the squad later in the week but this certainly will be a frustration for Marsch as he would’ve liked to have spent some time on the grass with him.
Since Marsch’s arrival, Firpo has missed over 25 games [Transfermarkt] due to injury which is an awful record to have and while he cannot be blamed for everything, he certainly is not working on his fitness as hard as some of the other players.
Pascal Struijk has become the club’s first-choice left-back and there is a possibility that the Whites end up signing another left-back in January.
Valencia left-back Jesus Vazquez has been linked with a move to Elland Road and does have a unilateral clause in his contract that does allow him to leave amid the lack of game time.
He would certainly be an upgrade on Firpo and this is a move Victor Orta has to prioritise in the January window.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now scouting an attacker at the World Cup and a January move appears to be on the cards for them.
