Jesse Marsch wants to make Djordje Mihailovic first Leeds United signing
Jesse Marsch reportedly wants to make Montreal CF midfielder Djordje Mihailovic first Leeds United signing.
That’s according to Transfermarkt journalist Manuel Veth who claims that the 23-year-old has been in “fantastic” form for the MLS outfit.
Marsch, who is also an American, is understood to be keen on signing his counterpart who has six caps to his name.
Via his personal Twitter account, Veth wrote, “Leeds United want Djordje Mihailovic. Mihailovic has been in fantastic form for CF Montréal last year and has continued his form this season in the Concacaf Champions League. Marsch wants to make the #USMNT midfielder his first signing at his new club.”
Worth it?
Mihailovic is American and so is Marsch so we’re not really surprised by the links here.
However, after pursuing Brenden Aaronson so thoroughly, for Leeds to change their target seems a tad weird.
It could be that Marsch has come in and decided that the 23-year-old is the player he wants at Elland Road next season.

He will have known that the club have failed to sign a central midfielder over the last two summers.
The American midfielder provided 14 assists last season so he clearly will be a beneficial signing should Leeds get him over the line.
However, they know it’s not going to be easy as many European clubs have been linked with him already and they could look to make a move for him.
