Jesse Marsch wants to keep Kalvin Phillips at Leeds United for a long time
Jesse Marsch has suggested that he wants to keep Kalvin Phillips at Leeds United for a long time.
The Whites midfielder has missed a chunk of the season through injuries but he is expected to return after the international break.
West Ham reportedly made an attempt to sign Phillips in the January transfer window [The Guardian], while other Premier League rivals could also make a move for him.

Marsch has made it clear that along with Phillips, he wants to keep Patrick Bamford and Raphinha at the club as well beyond the summer.
The American said, as quoted by Leeds Live: “I haven’t spoken about long-term futures with everyone, it’s all about the present and living in the moment now.
“Those conversations come down the road. I would love to keep guys like Kalvin, Patrick (Bamford) and Raphinha here as long as possible.”
Safety first
Phillips is likely to be linked heavily with a move away from the club this summer, even if Leeds manage to avoid relegation.
The England midfielder has grown into one of the best in his position in the league, and top Premier League clubs would be vying for his signature.
For Phillips to grow further, it is important to join a club that are playing in the Champions League. The money should not be a motivating factor for him to join any other club.

Leeds have the tools to compete in the Premier League, and with more investment in the future, the club can really progress.
However, for the time being, the focus is on Premier League survival where the Whites need more points on board to secure safety.
The victory against Norwich City have given them a breather, but they face a tough trip to Wolves this weekend. A draw won’t be a bad result.
In other Leeds United news, Marsch has been amazed at one thing in Premier League football since he arrived in LS11.
