Jesse Marsch should drop Pascal Struijk v Arsenal after Leeds United injury boost

Leeds United will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in a crucial Premier League game on Sunday (8 May).

The Gunners are aiming to finish in the top four while Leeds are fighting for survival, every point matters.

The Whites are heading into this game on the back of a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City, and Jesse Marsch should look to make some changes.

With Stuart Dallas out for the rest of the season, Marsch should trust in Junior Firpo for the left-back role, even though he is error-prone at the back.

In central defence, Liam Cooper should replace Pascal Struijk.

The young Dutch defender has been brilliant this season, with Cooper hailing him as an “unbelievable” talent [Yorkshire Evening Post]. However, he is likely to make way for his captain.

Cooper missed the clash against Man City just before the match, but he has returned to full training this week.

Marsch has told Leeds Live that Cooper is likely to feature against the Gunners. His timely return will serve as a massive boost for the club.

Cooper is a leader at the back. The likes of Robin Koch and Struijk struggled against Man City, with the latter especially finding it tough to handle the City forwards.

Against Arsenal, the Whites need to be solid at the back, and even if they return with a point, it would be a massive result for them.

Under Marsch, Leeds have performed admirably well in defence, and they will get a huge boost with Cooper returning.

The Whites are only two points ahead of Everton, who are in 18th, but the Toffees have a game in hand.

In other Leeds United news, Paul Merson has predicted that Saturday developments will put ‘massive’ pressure on the Whites
