Jesse Marsch press conference scheduled for Thursday as sack speculation swirls at Leeds United
Jesse Marsch looks set to be in charge against Liverpool this weekend with the Leeds United manager holding a pre-match press conference on Thursday, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
The newspaper reported via their website on Thursday morning (27 October) that March will face the media “and will undoubtedly face further questions regarding his own future after Leeds dropped into the Premier League’s relegation zone last weekend”.
Speculation is swirling around Marsch’s future at Elland Road with Mail+ reporting this week (25 October) that Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta are eyeing potential replacements for the American.
Safe for another week?
It would be weird if Leeds decided to make a move to sack Marsch if they lose to Liverpool this weekend.
Although the Reds haven’t been in the best of form this season, they’re still a team you’d expect to win against Leeds in the Premier League – especially at Anfield.
If we get absolutely pummelled then fair enough, Andrea Radrizzani might decide to make a move to sack Marsch before the game against Bournemouth.
That’s the one to focus on and should be the one Marsch is judged on most.
Even if we beat Liverpool, questions will have to be asked of the American if he sees his side lose to the Cherries.
Leeds are in the bottom three right now and they will stay there if their wretched form against bottom-half teams continues.
We’ve lost to Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester and Brentford in recent weeks and only managed to get a draw with Aston Villa, Southampton and Everton.
It cannot continue and if it does, Marsch cannot continue either.
In other Leeds United news, this “fantastic” manager is bound to be the next Whites boss after a Sky Sports reveal earlier this week.
