Jesse Marsch now in two minds over selling Leeds United defender Leif Davis – Phil Hay
Jesse Marsch is still in two minds about whether to keep Leeds United defender Leif Davis close or move him on this summer, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist has reiterated the bid on the table from Ipswich Town, with Marsch scratching his head after the injury to Junior Firpo over the past week.
Matters are complicated even further with Davis being taken along to the tour of Australia with any decision now likely to put on hold until the squad returns.

Writing in his latest column for The Athletic, Hay shared the latest news on the matter as Leeds try and figure out how to deal with yet another injury crisis.
“They have Leif Davis, their 22-year-old defender, and although there is an offer for him on the table from League One Ipswich Town, Marsch has taken him on tour and is still in two minds about whether to keep him close,” he wrote.
“Davis at least has the advantage of being a left-back, the only one in the squad who flew to Australia last Sunday. He has equally played too little for Leeds to stack their chips on him and press ahead blindly.”

Talks.
There is no doubt that talks are underway behind the scenes on how to deal with this.
Victor Orta will be in frequent discussions with Marsch and given that Jack Harrison started at left-back over Davis against Brisbane Roar may tell us everything we need to know.
The fact that Ipswich are the bidding club too and if no Championship clubs are in the race, do Leeds really have a spot in their Premier League squad for a player of that calibre.
With money on the table, it may be best for the Whites to take it and run.
Orta will have a list of potential targets but won’t likely spend much if he was to bring a name in to strengthen the squad with a loan move maybe even possible for more experience.
Davis will need to do something special it seems in these final games of the tour against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace to prove he has a future at Elland Road.
