Jesse Marsch now fully focused on Leeds United transfers, war chest nearly available

Jesse Marsch is fully focused on new Leeds United transfers despite being away in Australia on the pre-season tour, according to the Daily Star.

The newspaper has reported in their print edition [12 July, pg. 43] that the Whites hope to spend half of the windfall from selling Raphinha to sign Club Brugges star Charles De Ketelaere.

It is shared that money from Raphinha leaving on top of the Kalvin Phillips windfall will be used for multiple new recruits before the end of the window in September.

Writing in his latest snippet for the newspaper, David Anderson shared that Marsch is fully focused on a new signing, despite currently being away in Australia.

“Boss Jesse Marsch is fully focused on buying a striker to complement Patrick Bamford after Barca swapped in to pip Chelsea and Arsenal for their star winger,” he wrote.

“The Whites will now use that money as well as the from the sale of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City, to bring in recruits.”

Interestingly, Anderson mentions multiple recruits not just the one in the final third.

It could all depend on how much is spent in the final third, with De Ketelaere likely to be a new club record signing if they can actually pull that off.

Should that happen, we don’t expect much more action.

If Leeds bring in someone else for less money, there will still be cash to spend and that could see another left-back and an experienced goalkeeper arrive at Elland Road too.

There is a war chest set to become available for Marsch and Victor Orta, and that could see Leeds improve on their six new signings already this summer.

It has been a long while since there has been this much excitement over potential new arrivals, and that is set to go up another level once this Raphinha deal finally goes through.

Could we see a new striker and more added to the squad before they come back from Australia? That is a real possibility it seems.
