Jesse Marsch eager to convince Andrea Radrizzani to make ‘clever’ signings for Leeds United

Jesse Marsch has revealed that he will be talking to Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani about making a couple of signings this summer.

The Whites have been very active in the transfer market where they’ve signed as many as seven players, including five senior-team members.

Marsch was quoted in a report by the Yorkshire Evening Post where he heaped praise on the club’s owner as well as Director of Football Victor Orta over the recruitment.

“I think he is, I think De Ketelaere is confirmed from what we’re hearing to go to Milan, but nothing’s been announced, so we’ve treated it for two or three weeks like he’s not coming,” said Marsch.

“Andrea is here this week, we’ll have a lot of good discussions. With the five guys we brought in we were totally clear that these five guys were who we wanted and we went out and got them and I’m very thankful to Andrea and Victor, for getting those done.

“They did a really good job early to secure those players so that they can be integrated into our team and that’s made us strong for where we are right now.

“And now we just got to be really clever about how to make the next additions so that we make sure that as good a job as we believe we’ve done with the five – you could say six with Darko as well – if we make two or three more that we are as confident as we were with those guys.”

Despite the departure of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha on big-money moves, it seems like Leeds United have found a good balance within their squad.

The five senior additions along with the two U21 signings have given the Leeds fans plenty of reasons to be excited about.

However, every team has its strength and weakness and it looks like Leeds still have loopholes within their team and is clear that they need reinforcement in the striker department and a left-back.

Forward Patrick Bamford, who is the club’s only out-and-out proven striker, has had his injury concerns over the last season whereas left-back Junior Firpo has failed to convince pundits and fans with his inconsistent performances.

Therefore, it is imperative that Leeds make those two additions after which they would be good enough to keep their place in the division for another season.

With talks set for this week, we could see some movement very quickly.
