Jesse Marsch could bring Manchester United coach Chris Armas to Leeds United – Phil Hay
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch will look to alter his backroom staff in the summer, with current Manchester United assistant Chris Armas a candidate to arrive.
Marsch arrived at the club in February, replacing Marcelo Bielsa at Elland Road and threw together a backroom staff that included loan manager Andrew Taylor and Under-23’s head coach Mark Jackson move into a first-team role.
But with the club now planning for the future Marsch wants to alter his staff, and the club are keen for Taylor to return to his position according to The Athletic.

That opens up a spot for Chris Armas, currently Ralf Rangnick’s assistant at Manchester United, to potentially come in and he is seen as a candidate for Marsch’s staff.
Jackson however may find his role permanently switched as Marsch has enjoyed working with him, so it’s possible that he drops his role as Under-23’s boss going forward.
Interesting
Armas was brought in at Old Trafford as part of the makeshift staff put together by Rangnick when he came in as an interim coach in December.
However he’s hardly ripped up any trees and with Erik Ten Hag now installed as the boss for next season, he is unlikely to stay on which opens up a chance for Leeds to swoop.

Armas and Marsch were long-time teammates during their playing days for Chicago Fire, before joining forces as coaches together at New York Red Bulls in the MLS.
Armas then replaced Marsch as manager when the now-Leeds boss took an assistant role at RB Leipzig, under Rangnick, so they have a long history together.
It would be good for Marsch to be able to bring someone in that can help get his ideas across during pre-season and knows exactly what he wants, so if that’s the man he wants then the club should get it done.
