Jermaine Beckford hails 'sublime' decisions in Leeds 3-0 win v Aston Villa

Leeds United cruised past the previously unbeaten Aston Villa with ease on Friday night in their 3-0 victory.

Patrick Bamford smashed home his first hattrick for the Whites since arriving two years ago, with only Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Heung-Min Son scoring more.

Those three points sent the Whites into the Champions League spots, a cracking start to the season after a tough run of fixtures including Manchester City and Liverpool.

There were a number of changes made by Marcelo Bielsa, with Pascal Struijk starting in midfield ahead of a reshuffled defence.

Struijk was booked early at Villa Park and was actually sacrificed after 20 minutes, a decision that worked perfectly in the end.

Jermaine Beckford was a massive fan of these decisions, claiming his former side were ruthless on his personal Twitter account.

“What a game and performance Leeds,” he wrote.

“Patrick Bamford fantastic hat trick and all the boys brilliant attitude! Not forgetting Marcelo Bielsa with his tactics and gameplay were sublime.”

To analyse how good of a decision it was, Jamie Shackleton’s performance proved it was the right call as he tormented the Villa midfield all evening.

Everyone knows that Bielsa is a major reason behind Leeds’ success, and he once again proved his worth on Friday evening.
