Leeds United are on a late charge in the Premier League, unbeaten in their last six and eying an unlikely European place.
And Sky Sports broadcaster Jeff Stelling thinks the run will go on with three points at the Amex on Saturday.
Writing on the Super Six website, Stelling said, “Leeds are unbeaten in their last six Premier League outings, playing Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United in that time.
“I think that run will continue for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, who face a Brighton side without a win in four, sitting seven points above safety.”
Too much, too soon?
It’s a pretty amazing run.
When Leeds fans looked at this run of fixtures, most were just glad that we were safe from the threat of relegation.
A win against Man City and draws against Liverpool, Man United and Chelsea have got us dreaming about a possible top-seven finish.
However, realistically, it’s not going to happen.
There are only five games left and we would need a lot of other results to go our way.
And, while it would undoubtedly be exciting to get into Europe in our first season back, we don’t think we’ve got the squad to cope with the extra games yet.
Yes, Leeds are the fittest side in the Premier League but double gameweeks, with Thursday on top, would stretch our current squad and could set us back.
We’re happy to shoot for Europe next season.
