Jeff Stelling stunned after Ally McCoist claims on Leeds United today
Ally McCoist has been stunned by the home form of Leeds United this season, with Jeff Stelling also wowed by Elland Road.
The Whites currently sit second in the table thanks to their 2-0 victory over Derby and are just one point behind Sheffield United, who Chris Wilder says are miles behind them despite that.
Stelling admitted that Leeds can bridge the gap to the Premier League if promoted, using Brentford as a recent example to follow.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (9 December, 09:44am), Stelling and McCoist shared their thoughts on what they have seen from the Whites.
“Leeds’ record at home recently has been absolutely phenomenal,” McCoist said.
“I think the gulf between the two divisions now is absolutely massive and that’s what we’re seeing with the promoted sides.”
Jeff Stelling replied: “I mean Brentford have bridged that gap, they did it so it can be done.
“Leeds, it goes without saying, Elland Road when it’s rocking, oh my goodness, it’s quite a place to go.”
Leeds United need to make their way back to the top of the Championship
If Leeds fail to gain promotion to the Premier League again this season, it’ll be nothing short of a disaster for Daniel Farke.
Last term, the West Yorkshire outfit narrowly missed out on promotion as they were beaten 1-0 by Southampton in the playoff final.
This meant that reinforcement had to be brought in during the summer, and while the new arrivals bolstered their ranks, it feels like there’s now more pressure than ever for the Whites to succeed.

Since the start of the term they’ve been mooted as one of the favourites to gain automatic promotion and perhaps even win the league so if they fall short again, it could end up being curtains for Farke.
There’s still a lot of the season to go and while the odd slip-up can be afforded here and there, it feels like if Leeds want to prove their dominance, they’ll have to continue stepping things up a gear as the campaign goes on.
In other Leeds news, the Whites may have found their saviour after what a “dangerous” ace did against Derby.
