Jeff Stelling predicts scoreline of Leeds United showdown v Wolves in Premier League

Jeff Stelling has backed Leeds United to pick up a point in their opening Premier League clash against Wolves on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road.

The Sky Sports host has predicted it will finish 1-1 in West Yorkshire, much better than the crushing at Old Trafford in the 2021-22 season under Marcelo Bielsa.

That comes after Jesse Marsch confirmed on Thursday [04 August] that the Whites will be without six players in a crushing injury blow including the likes of new signing Luis Sinisterra.

Stelling shared his predictions for Sky Sports’ Super 6, with Leeds and Wolves backed to share the spoils in a hotly anticipated clash after the drama of last season in both fixtures.

It’s back.

We already cannot contain our excitement for Saturday, as the Premier League comes back early.

With the World Cup set to take place at the end of 2022, Leeds along with the rest will kickstart their campaign early ahead of the planned winter break – much to our delight.

Kicking off this season with a positive start will be key, especially after the struggles of recent times.

Leeds didn’t win until October in the 2021-22 season with that 1-0 victory over Watford, and that built up unnecessary pressure, something we need to avoid.

With some decent fixtures in the opening month, picking up two or three wins could make it the perfect start, and that will certainly be the goal – starting with Wolves.

It will no doubt be a tight game against Bruno Lages’ men, but one that Marsch will be confident of kickstarting his season off with a bang in.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
