Jeff Stelling predicts result of Leeds United Premier League clash v Everton for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling is backing Michael Skubala to get his first win as Leeds boss when he takes his side to Goodison Park for a relegation clash against Everton.

The Whites have picked up just one point from their two games since sacking Jesse Marsch, picking up a draw at Old Trafford before losing to Manchester United at Elland Road.

That has left them just one point above the relegation zone, and Saturday’s opponents Everton, but with Sean Dyche’s side struggling for goals and having played on Monday night in a Merseyside Derby, Sky Sports host Stelling has told Super 6 (17 February) that he is backing Leeds to win 1-0.

Leeds haven’t won a game since a 4-3 win over Bournemouth back in October, while Everton’s win over Arsenal in Dyche’s first game in charge was their first win since October too.

Needed

The next two games are absolutely vital towards Leeds’ survival hopes, and will have a big say on whether Michael Skubala stays in his role for the rest of the season.

Everton and Southampton are the two sides that are directly below us in the league table, and back to back wins would not only see us build some much needed momentum but it would also create a gap between us and the relegation zone.

Going to Goodison Park is never easy, and there fans showed how influential they can be during their win over Arsenal recently.

Leeds United

However those fans can’t play for the players, and Leeds have got enough quality on the pitch to be able to out-fight and out-score them if we play to our potential.

There is plenty of quality in the side and Skubala has shown that he is capable of getting a lot out of these players, so if they continue to perform well then the results will surely follow in games such as these and we’ll be able to move away from the bottom.
