Jeff Stelling predicts Leeds United clash v Wolves in Premier League for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has backed Leeds United and Wolves to be the boring game of the Premier League weekend, finishing with one point each in the relegation battle.

The Sky Sports host has predicted it will finish 0-0 at Molineux on Saturday 18 March, despite the desperate need for a win from both teams, especially Javi Gracia’s men.

Leeds currently sit second-bottom in the Premier League, but with the table so tight, one win could see them jump as high as 14th if other results go their way.

Writing in his latest round of predictions for Sky Sports Super Six, Stelling went around the grounds with some big games on the line at both ends of the Premier League table this weekend as he backed Southampton to beat Spurs.

“Arsenal are on the hunt for a sixth successive Premier League win as they welcome Crystal Palace to the Emirates, who are without a win in 11 matches,” he wrote.

“I think they will get the win comfortably and extend the gap at the top of the table to eight points. Elsewhere, there could be trouble for Tottenham, as I think Southampton could get another valuable three points at St Mary’s.”

Unfortunately for Leeds, they cannot afford to just keep picking up one single point every weekend now with wins needed if they are to stay up.

Sitting in 19th and actually dropping since the sacking Jesse Marsch was not in the plans of anyone at Elland Road, with Javi Gracia struggling with certain aspects.

Although Leeds may look somewhat more secure at the back, watching them trying to find the back of the net is like pulling teeth right now, with their attacking play so painfully average.

It took two wonder goals against Brighton, and Gracia will be hoping for more fluency in the final third at Molineux with changes such as Willy Gnonto surely needing to happen.

Crysencio Summerville has not been good enough recently, and changes need to be made to make sure that we stand the best chance of leaving with three points.

Wolves looked average at best against Newcastle last time out and with injuries of their own to contend with, this game is there for the taking if Leeds can return to their best here.

In other Leeds United news, a star first-team player would reportedly be “very happy” to go as an audacious transfer approach is lined up from abroad.
