Jeff Stelling drops Georginio Rutter transfer update as Leeds United exit mooted
Jeff Stelling has suggested that Georginio Rutter could return to Germany after Leeds United failed to secure promotion to the Premier League.

However, the 24-year-old has starred in Leeds’ Championship campaign, boasting eight goals and 18 assists in competitions, though this was still not enough to lead the club to promotion.
Speaking live via talkSPORT on Wednesday (29 May, 8:57am), Stelling said: “I’d love to see him [Archie Gray] stay at Leeds while developing. I think Bamford’s injuries have been his problem.
“It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Rutter as well. He’s had a good season. If they need to raise funds, would they look at selling him back to Germany? I don’t know.”
Could Leeds United star Georginio Rutter return to Germany?

Considering his sensational record this season, the sale of Rutter would likely make a huge dent in that £100million target, though Leeds would lose one of their biggest stars.
The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Wilfried Gnonto have all been linked with moves away, though some of these players will need to remain at Elland Road if Leeds are to secure promotion next season.

Leeds do need to raise funds this summer, even before making any signings. However, losing Rutter could be detrimental to the club’s future, especially after how long it took them last time to get out of the Championship.
While there should be no worries with Daniel Farke at the helm, considering his experiences with Norwich City, uncertainty is bound to creep in for some fans.
