Jeff Stelling cannot believe eyes at Leeds United transfer move live on Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has been left stunned at Leeds United and their decision to break their club record to sign Georginio Rutter this season.

The Sky Sports host questioned who on earth sanctioned that deal, and questioned whether it was one of the reasons why the Whites are on the verge of relegation.

Rutter has only started one Premier League game, with Sam Allardyce even admitting that he doesn’t see him making a difference against Spurs and is one for next season.

Speaking live on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday today (28 May, 15:36), Stelling could not believe his eyes at the business being done at Elland Road.

“They paid £36million for Georginio Rutter, who has scored 12 career goals and has made one Premier League start,” he said.

“Who the heck is endorsing these deals at Leeds United.”

Shocking.

We all know that there is one man to blame.

Victor Orta has since been sacked at Elland Road, and looking at deals such as this one, it is no surprise that the Spaniard is no longer working for the club.

It is a shock that he lasted as long as he did, with some of his signings simply shocking, apart from the odd lucky move that came off such as Wilfried Gnonto.

For Allardyce to label the attacker as one for the next season when Rodrigo is carrying an injury and Patrick Bamford is ruled out is embarrassing.

The young striker is not good enough based on that statement alone, and he may need the Championship even half to prove that his signing was not a complete disaster.

Even though it would take a miracle around the Premier League, hopefully, Rutter can come off the bench and score the goal that keeps us in the top flight today.

Fingers crossed.
