Jeff Stelling apologises for what he has to repeat about Leeds United live on air – ‘I’m sorry’

Jeff Stelling is concerned about Leeds United’s attack and if the Whites have enough firepower to stay in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke has faced huge pressure for Leeds’ results in the league, with growing worries about relegation.

Leeds are in a scrap to keep their status in the Premier League beyond the 2025-26 campaign, but data isn’t showing any signs of positivity for the Whites.

Leeds’ attack has been poor in particular, with Farke having to rely on the likes of centre-back Joe Rodon for goals.

And Stelling has now had to say “sorry” for his repeated comment regarding Leeds’ attack.

Jeff Stelling fears Leeds got priorities wrong in summer transfer window

Farke was backed with over £100m on new signings in the summer by the 49ers, but the German head coach still seems to lack quality within his squad.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin joined Leeds on a free transfer, as did Lukas Nmecha when he arrived at Elland Road.

Nmecha has shown promise, but Calvert-Lewin has failed to impress for Leeds so far, with the Whites now looking like they may need to sign more forwards in January.

Speaking live on talkSPORT, Stelling apologised for sounding like a broken record over Leeds’ attacking debacle.

Stelling said: “I’m sorry for sounding like a broken record, but when it comes to Leeds, the question always has to be who is going to score the goals?

“They spent £100m in the summer, but Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha came in on a free. I wonder if Leeds got their priorities wrong.

“I feel for Farke because he doesn’t seem to have the options available.”

Attention may turn to the figures above Farke, as the German head coach would have wanted better signings in the summer.

The 49ers failed Farke in summer with striker signings

Early in the summer, Farke expressed his disappointment with transfer activity, but Leeds stepped things up shortly before the window closed.

Still, Farke was left with two strikers who may be seen as the cheap option.

The reality is that the 49ers didn’t invest in strikers enough to give Farke adequate quality in perhaps the most important area of the field.

Neither Calvert-Lewin nor Nmecha are overperforming in the expected goals area, and Leeds will continue to suffer with their current striker options.

Farke is pretty helpless in this case.
