Jed York shuts down question on finances as 49ers supremo quizzed on Leeds United
Jed York has expressed his excitement regarding the ongoing projects at Leeds United.
The Whites secured their ascent back to the Premier League last May and are in a good spot to secure survival under Daniel Farke this term.
Leeds have secured some big results at Elland Road this season already, against the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.
And it is the iconic stadium that is at the heart of the news surrounding Leeds recently, with plans announced for an Elland Road expansion.
York, CEO of the 49ers Enterprises group in charge of the club, has expressed his excitement regarding the ongoing project, as well as hinting at further investment moving forward.

Jed York outlines Leeds financial details
First purchasing a 15 per cent stake in 2018, increased to 44 per cent in 2021, the investment arm of the San Francisco purchased full control of the club from Andrea Radrizzani in 2023.
The group, led by chairman Paraag Marathe and 49ers CEO York have overseen Leeds’ rise back to the Premier League under Farke.
Speaking at the Fanatics red carpet in San Francisco, York said: “There’s nothing like Elland Road.
“Leeds to me is one of the biggest brands in all of sports, and our goal was to make sure we put Leeds back on the map and where they belong.”
Last year, plans were unveiled detailing an Elland Road expansion, seeing the capacity rise to 53,000.
“Part of the process is making sure we keep the essence of Elland Road intact, and make it bigger and better,” added York, who was keen to outline why Premier League survival is important away from finances.
“It’s not about the financial boost,” said York. “It’s about making sure that a prominent team like Leeds United is where they belong. That is always the goal, the goal for us is always to win, whatever sports team we are involved in, it is always to win.
“Leeds is on the right track. Hopefully, we keep it rolling, and we see everything back where it belongs.”
Crucially, asked about further investment should the club secure their Premier League future, York responded saying: “There’s always investment, and there will definitely be more.”

Leeds are in a fantastic place to secure Premier League future
While not as seamlessly as fellow promoted outfit Sunderland, Leeds have settled nicely into Premier League life, after the Whites were relegated from the top flight in 2023.
Farke’s side have turned Elland Road into a fortress, and are always capable of picking up points on home soil – as showcased with their recent win against relegation rivals Nottingham Forest, where it was hard to argue with anything other than Leeds being firm favourites heading into the clash.

Leeds sit 15th in the standings due to their excellent home form, and smart summer recruitment that has seen the majority of the squad come together in their prime years – as seen with the likes of Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Safety this season is the number one priority for the club, which is hoping to enter a new era, one where they are a much more stable Premier League club than they were in their last top-flight venture.
Should this be secured, the opportunity is there for further investment, and the chance to keep on building ahead of the highly anticipated Elland Road expansion.
