Jean-Kevin Augustin could not give a 'damn' about Leeds United as transfer saga finally spills over

Brian Deane has insisted that Jean-Kevin Augustin did not give a “damn” about his move to Leeds United or the club as his transfer saga finally spilt over.

The Court of Arbitration ordered the Whites to pay RB Leipzig the £18million they had previously agreed on Friday 4th November, with Leeds exploring the options of another appeal.

Augustin, now at Basel, was said to not care at all about the move which resulted in only 48 minutes of playing time under Marcelo Bielsa despite the big hope behind him at the time.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Deane shared what he had apparently heard about the Frenchman after his completely disastrous spell at Elland Road.

“One of the worst things about this was the players’ attitude,” he wrote.

“I wouldn’t defend the recruitment at all but apparently he couldn’t give a damn about the move himself, or the club.”

This just makes it even worst for Leeds.

Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta cannot have predicted it to have gone as bad as it did, but you could easily see the clear fitness issues that the striker was going through.

You only have to look at his career since all of this drama, being released by Leipzig and then failing at Nantes before hoping to somewhat save his career in Switzerland.

Ironically, that is where it wrong for Leeds in the courts, although they said they were surprised and shocked at the outcome, most people saw this coming.

The inevitable is likely being dragged out if another appeal comes, and it may just be best to cough up that £18million in those three instalments.

Augustin won’t care and will likely have forgotten about his time in Leeds already, which should be easy given he literally did nothing while at the club – who shouldn’t care about him either.
