Javi Gracia will wave goodbye to Leeds United squad as Sam Allardyce prepares to take over

Javi Gracia will get the chance to wave goodbye to the Leeds United squad today as he prepares to be sacked, according to The Times.

The newspaper has reported on its website that Sam Allardyce is being set up to take over as caretaker manager at Elland Road with only four games remaining.

Leeds are currently only out of the bottom three of the Premier League on goal difference, something that could change as Nottingham Forest take on Southampton next.

Allardyce is said to have been identified as the best option to fight off relegation, a sad reality given the exciting prospects within the squad.

Victor Orta is also said to be under heavy pressure and fighting to save his job too, something that many Leeds fans will likely celebrate given his poor record.

Angus Kinnear does know Allardyce from their time working together at West Ham United in the past, so he will likely be leading the talks.

Desperation.

Leeds are hurtling towards relegation, that is clear and this is just another sign that the pressure is getting to everybody at the club.

Gracia’s role was becoming untenable with his stubborn tactics and lack of presence serious issues that saw the Leeds fans turn on him.

The Whites were shipping far too many goals, conceding the most goals ever in April the Premier League has seen, something that Allardyce will look to change.

With Manchester City next up at The Etihad, no one will give Leeds much hope, but Allardyce is a master of the dark arts, something that could spring a surprise.

No one is expecting much from the rest of this season, so it looks as though Allardyce will have a free hit to make his mark at Elland Road, with survival a huge bonus.

Fingers crossed this works out, but the truth is that Leeds are in a real mess right now.
