Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara in stitches at what Leeds fan said about Man United

Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara were left in stitches after what a Leeds fan said about potentially going up against Manchester United next season.

The Whites battled to a huge 3-1 victory over Sheffield United on Monday (24 February), putting Daniel Farke’s side five points clear at the top of the Championship.

Sheffield United were leading until the 72nd minute but three late goals from Junior Firpo, Ao Tanaka and Joel Piroe secured all three points.

Cundy and O’Hara crack up over Leeds v Manchester United claim

Farke will be keen for his side not to get ahead of themselves despite sitting at the top of the table, looking fairly comfortable.

There is plenty of football still to be played although with seven points between themselves and third place, you couldn’t blame Leeds for feeling some confidence.

Despite that, one Leeds fan rang into talkSPORT after the game, saying he can’t wait to go up against Manchester United again, and potentially pick up an easy win.

Speaking live on Sport’s Bar (24 February, 22:40), O’Hara responded with a chuckle, saying: “Listen, you’re going to be back. You’re going to be back in the Premier League. Stay humble mate” which Cundy agreed with.

However, the Leeds supporter responded by saying: “Never. Stay humble, rubbish. Man United, Elland Road, 6-0 Leeds. Happening. First game of the season get it on” which prompted laughter from both presenters of the show.

Leeds United looking ahead to Premier League return

As it stands, it certainly looks like Leeds will be on their way back to the top flight and with the form that they have shown throughout the campaign, it would take a big disaster to derail their momentum.

The fact that Farke’s side can never be counted out of a comeback until the final whistle in the game speaks volumes about the momentum and quality of the Leeds side this term.

With that in mind, supporters of the West Yorkshire club should certainly be looking ahead with confidence.

Furthermore, when thinking of a game against rivals Manchester United, given how badly they are doing, it must be a fun thought.

Although the history of the fixtures may not be on Leeds’ side, with the current form of the Red Devils, a return to the Premier League could see a positive change to this list of results.

Nevertheless, with promotion not yet confirmed, it might be time to just slow the thoughts down and focus on the current job at hand first before getting too carried away.
