Jason Cundy accused of going too far after what he’s said about Leeds live on air
Dean Saunders jokingly told Jason Cundy he had gone “too far” over a comment made about Leeds United following their win over Chelsea.
Leeds stunned Chelsea 3-1 at Elland Road on Wednesday night to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.
While Leeds’ win over Chelsea was not without its controversy, it was still a deserved win for Daniel Farke’s men.
Farke was told he had two games to save his Leeds job and he certainly did his prospects of staying in charge no harm on Wednesday.
Leeds fans are still buzzing from the win, but former Chelsea player and now avid supporter Cundy was not best pleased.
Jason Cundy wants to see Leeds drop down to League One
The big rivalry between Leeds and Chelsea still exists four decades on from their infamous FA Cup final meeting.
Cundy certainly still has hatred towards Leeds, even more so after witnessing title challengers Chelsea lose in shock circumstances.
Speaking live on talkSPORT soon after the game, Cundy said: “I’ve watched Leeds this season and they’re a good team.
“Not tonight. They played three at the back, five in midfield and pressed us. They were good, but we were shocking.”
Cundy added: “You know what, I hope Leeds get relegated. I hope they go back to where they belong in League One.”
A laughing Saunders, sat alongside Jamie O’Hara in the studio, replied: “You’ve gone too far now.”
Cundy’s comments were presumably made light-heartedly, but there is no denying Leeds are as hated as ever by Chelsea fans right now.
Leeds are Chelsea’s second-least favourite away opponents
Leeds were given next to no chance of beating Chelsea, but beat them they did in a seismic result at both ends of the division.
Chelsea have now won only 19 per cent of their Premier League away games against Leeds – three out of 16 – which is their second-worst record against any side they have played at least 10 times.

Top of that list are Manchester United (18 per cent), so Elland Road is certainly not a happy hunting ground for the Blues.
Leeds will now hope this win provides the momentum needed when they host Liverpool at Elland Road on Saturday evening.
