Jamie O’Hara makes ‘unbelievable’ Leeds United admission after Middlesbrough win
Jamie O’Hara has admitted that it would be “unbelievable” if Leeds United manage to win the Championship this season, after beating Middlesbrough 3-2.
The Whites came from behind to beat Michael Carrick’s side on Saturday (2 December) thanks to goals from Dan James, Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe in the first half, to remain third in the Championship and seven points from the automatic promotion places.
Daniel Farke’s side are now unbeaten in their last six matches and seems the most likely of any side to catch Ipswich and Leicester this season, but talkSPORT presenter O’Hara doesn’t believe they are capable of winning the Championship.

Speaking on talkSPORT (2 December, 18:55) he said: “I’ve actually kept an eye on Leeds and they have crept up to Ipswich a little bit, if they do, do it, it’s going to be unbelievable.
“It’s a tough ask to win the league, Leicester for me are the best team in the league.”
Tough ask
It is never an easy task to make predictions about the Championship, however, it does seem like a tough ask for Leeds United to not only catch one of the top two over the next months but also somehow pip the pair of them to lift the title this season.
Leeds have shown they are more than capable of beating both Leicester and Ipswich this season, Farke’s side came out on top in a seven-goal thriller at Portman Road and managed to beat the Foxes at the King Power Stadium. But if they do that again, it alone won’t be enough to close the gap.

There is still plenty of football to be played between now and the end of the season and lots of points to be won or lost, but you would have to imagine that the Whites will need to barely drop another point if they are to lift the title this season.
O’Hara is right to suggest that currently, Leicester are still favourites for the title. However, their recent form has made it hard to label them the best team in the league. Most Leeds fans would take promotion to the Premier League and a second-place finish and wouldn’t lose much sleep having missed out on the title.
