Jamie O’Hara loses his head as Leeds United drawn into angry Tottenham rant after Arsenal loss
Leeds United were dragged into an angry Jamie O’Hara rant as he used signing players from the Whites as an excuse for Tottenham losing 1-0 v Arsenal on 15 September.
Tottenham managed to lose the first North London Derby game of the season 1-0 to Mikel Arteta’s men, who dominated the clash.
This loss has dropped Spurs to 13th place in the Premier League, eight points behind the league leaders Manchester City.
Writing via X on 15 September, O’Hara blasted Tottenham’s players and said that if Spurs are signing players from Championship teams – as they did Archie Gray from Leeds – then they need to expect “Championship results”.
“Give me Aaron Lennon, Huddlestone, Keane, Defoe and Van de Vaart over these any day of the week,” the talkSPORT pundit wrote.
“We sign players from Bournemouth, Burnley, Leeds and Forest then expect Championship results #Spurs, head’s gone.”
Leeds United should have fought to re-sign Gray from Tottenham
The summer transfer window saw plenty of change occur at Elland Road. The Whites made a plethora of sales and purchases during the window and are now able to field an almost new-look team.
Their 2024/25 season hasn’t got off to the best of starts and while the club have faced the likes of Burnley and West Brom since the start of the new season, it still feels like Daniel Farke’s men should have performed better.
Gray was Leeds’ biggest and most essential sale of the window and it’s hard to deny that his presence on the pitch this term could have helped turn the tides for the West Yorkshire outfit.
Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell have been brought in to replace those that have exited but the 18-year-old was just a level above all of the Whites’ players last term.
Spurs are yet to start the youngster and although there’s still plenty of time left in the season, it feels like the club should have fought harder to bring him back on loan for the 2024/25 season.
