Jamie O’Hara details one thing that must happen at Leeds for them to be ‘real force’ in PL

Jamie O’Hara has tipped Leeds United to become a “real force” in the Premier League if they manage to keep hold of Marcelo Bielsa.

Since being appointed in charge of Leeds in 2018, Bielsa has turned the Yorkshire club from a perennial underachiever into the team that currently sits top of the Championship with nine matches to play.

Before the coronavirus pandemic brought football to a halt, many would have backed the Whites to win automatic promotion to the top-flight and end their 16-year spell in the EFL.

Bielsa has been key to that and if he stays on at Elland Road with Leeds in the Premier League, ex-Tottenham midfielder O’Hara believes that the club can do some big things.

“They need to get promotion to keep Bielsa. If they do and Bielsa stays, then I think they could be a real force in the Premier League. They are ready for promotion,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT on Friday [08:24am].

We all know about the potential that Leeds United have.

They are one of the biggest clubs in the country and with the money received from playing in the Premier League, there’s no doubt that within a few years they could be challenging for some serious positions.

You only have to look at Wolves to see how the right decisions in the boardroom and within the management can turn a club from a struggling Championship one into one that’s qualified for European competition.

Leeds can be that team if they keep Bielsa.
