Jamie Carragher predicts result of Leeds United vs Crystal Palace

Leeds United welcome Crystal Palace to Elland Road on Saturday, as they look to hit Christmas with another important Premier League win.

Leeds’ 1-1 draw with Brentford on Sunday leaves them unbeaten in three matches, and their resurgence in form has seen them establish a three-point gap above the relegation zone.

After a rocky start to the season, Daniel Farke’s change to a 5-3-2 formation has caused problems against Chelsea and Man City, and there is a real expectation that they could be in for another memorable result at home.

As for Crystal Palace, they sit fifth in the table, and despite losing 3-0 to Man City last time out.

This sets up a fascinating contest at Elland Road, and Jamie Carragher believes that not much will separate the sides on the day.

Jamie Carragher predicts draw in Leeds vs Crystal Palace

Leeds have lost their last two Premier League games against Palace, as many as they had in their previous nine.

However, Palace have never won consecutive top-flight matches at Elland Road before, and Carragher believes that they’ll have to wait even longer.

Making his prediction for Super 6, the former Liverpool defender believes the game will end in a 1-1 draw.

Leeds’ head-to-head vs Crystal Palace:

Crystal Palace won 5-1 in their last Premier League away game against Leeds in April 2023, although Farke’s side are buoyant at this moment in time.

Despite Leeds being in a relegation battle, optimism has been renewed in LS11, and fans are starting to believe that they can buck the recent trend for promoted sides, alongside Sunderland.

Although Palace have only conceded five goals away from home all season, plenty of evidence suggests that there will be more than two goals, especially with the injury crisis facing Oliver Glasner.

Leeds vs Crystal Palace could be a high-scoring affair

Jean-Philippe Mateta and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have both scored four non-penalty goals in the Premier League this season.

Calvert-Lewin’s importance for Leeds in recent weeks has been made clear, while Mateta has enjoyed a brilliant couple of seasons under Glasner.

The Peacocks have also scored nine goals in their last four games, while Palace have averaged 1.7xG per game.

If anything, Carragher’s prediction could be off, and we could be in for another thriller at Elland Road, with Leeds fans desperate for three points.
