Jamie Carragher looks at Premier League relegation race for Leeds United live on Sky Sports
Jamie Carragher has made a “huge” relegation prediction for Leeds United, live on Sky Sports after a manic Monday in the Premier League.
After the conclusion of Nottingham Forest’s win over Southampton, the former Liverpool stalwart was discussing the permutations with Sky presenter David Jones and Martin O’Neill.
Leeds are currently in 19th position in the table, at least two points from safety ahead of the final three fixtures of the season.

Casting a glance at the run-in for all five clubs still involved in the battle to avoid relegation to the Championship, Carragher’s outlook was not a positive one for the Whites.
“I felt today’s results could be more important than what happens on the last day of the season and I think that those two results for Everton and Nottingham Forest today puts huge pressure on Leicester and Leeds,” he stated.
“Three games to go, I think that Everton and Forest if they win another game, they will be ok.
“Leicester would then have to get five points from three games, Leeds the same and we’re talking about teams who are on really poor runs”
Points on the board
There is a deficit that Leeds needs to claw back and it will be easier said than done, but that is exactly the task ahead for Sam Allardyce to inspire the squad to a rousing finish, in what would be a comeback against the odds.
Although the game is at Elland Road on Saturday, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United will be a formidable opponent, as they aim to bounce back after their loss to Arsenal. Just look at what they did to Everton a couple of weeks ago. It will be a tall order to take anything from that game.
A draw would be ok but in the event of a loss, two wins would probably be required from the last fixtures away to West Ham and home to Tottenham, respectively.
Nothing else will do at this stage, given the ground that was lost yesterday as the rival clubs put points on the board to ease their own worries.
In other Leeds United news, Sam Allardyce’s SOS call has been revealed as a former player made a fast return to the club.
