Jaidon Anthony makes ‘unbelievable’ Leeds admission ahead of Elland Road reunion
Jaidon Anthony admitted Leeds United fans were “unbelievable” with him while he was on loan with the club last season.
The winger went through a tough time midway through the 2023/24 campaign as his mum sadly passed away in January.
Although the wide man was just on loan from Bournemouth, Leeds’ fans treated the attacker as one of their own and backed him each time he stepped on the pitch.
Speaking to the Burnley Express (13 September) Anthony shared that even those inside the club “rallied” behind him when times got tough.
“They were unbelievable with me to be honest, even now to this day, I get a lot of messages from them wishing me well,” he said, ahead of returning to Elland Road with loan club Burnley on Saturday (14 September).
“It was a really tough time, but they rallied around me. Not just the people in the club, but also the fans.
“I’m still in contact with a lot of people from the club as well. It’s a special place for me and I have nothing but respect for them.
“What happened has probably changed my approach to a lot of things, not just football. The way I view things and the way I view life has probably changed.
“I’ve had to grow up quite fast, I’ve had a lot of help with that as well. It’s just something I’ve had to do, growing as a person.”
Leeds United need to beat Burnley at Elland Road
Before the international break took place, Leeds found themselves on a solid run of form and, while the club didn’t manage to make their way to the top of the table, they aren’t far behind league leaders Sunderland.
The Whites will be keen to maintain that winning momentum to cement themselves in the race for automatic promotion.
A win against Burnley would set a precedent for the rest of the league to show that Daniel Farke’s men aren’t taking any prisoners when it comes to the promotion chase.
New arrival Manor Solomon had a stellar debut for the West Yorkshire outfit against Hull City and the club will no doubt be looking at the Israel international to help lead their attack once again.

Thanks to their strong start, Leeds have managed to make Alan Brazil eat his words about a potential issue with replacing those that have exited Elland Road.
There’s still a long way until the end of the season but a win against Burnley would no doubt go a long way to their promotion hopes.
