Jadon Sancho sends Instagram message to Ian Poveda after Leeds draw v Man Utd
Leeds United winger Ian Poveda has been handed numerous chances in the Premier League in the recent absence of superstar Raphinha.
After impressing off the bench against Liverpool last week, the young talent once again was handed minutes in the 0-0 draw with Manchester United.
It was a different game at Elland Road, with Poveda needed to defend more against our fierce rivals, something he did well.
Borussia Dortmund and England star Jadon Sancho was clearly impressed with what he saw and took to Instagram to share his praise.
After Poveda had posted on his personal Instagram account after the clash, Sancho replied with a one-word message after watching on.
Determined.
We are loving the response of Poveda.
The young winger may have expected more minutes this season in the Premier League after breaking through at the end of the promotion-winning campaign.
It hasn’t quite played out that way, but he is clearly more determined than ever to impress and that is exactly the type of attitude our younger players need.
Watching the likes of Raphinha, and having close allies such as Sancho will be all the motivation he needs to cement his spot in this side.
Poveda will have his fingers crossed that Marcelo Bielsa and Victor Orta don’t target another winger in the summer window, but with that a real possibility looking at our squad, he may need to do something special to keep his spot.
Time will tell, but the current signs are good for Poveda.
