Jack Harrison dubbed ‘excellent’ as new Leeds footage drops from Germany
Jack Harrison isn’t the most popular player among Leeds fans, but he’s starting to win over other key figures at Elland Road.
The winger was seemingly unwilling to represent Leeds in the Championship last season and was shipped out on loan to Everton again.
This attitude has upset Leeds supporters, some of whom booed him during the recent pre-season friendly against Manchester United.
Harrison looks set to stay at Leeds, though, and he was a starter in their most recent friendly against German side SC Verl.

Harrison wows in pre-season friendly against SC Verl
Leeds faced SC Verl in a friendly played behind closed doors on Tuesday (22 July).
They won the game 4-1, thanks to a brace from Joel Piroe, as well as goals from Wilfried Gnonto and new signing Lukas Nmecha.
However, it was Harrison who was singled out for praise by co-commentator Tony Dorigo early in the first half.
Speaking on LUTV highlights, shared on YouTube, Dorigo was discussing the need for good delivery from out wide to take advantage of Leeds’ height.
Harrison then delivered a picture-perfect corner to the back post, which Dorigo described as “excellent”.
The cross was met with a towering header by Pascal Struijk, who forced an excellent save from the goalkeeper to keep the match goalless at that stage.
Leeds fans will be hoping for Harrison upgrade on the wing
Many Leeds fans were perplexed to see Harrison starting the friendly against Manchester United, with some questioning why Daniel Farke is giving game time to a player who didn’t want to be at the club.
Despite his adequate pre-season performances, Leeds fans will still hope that an upgrade on Harrison can be found before the Premier League season kicks off.
That’s not just because of Harrison’s attitude towards Leeds.
Appearances | Minutes Played | Goals | Assists |
38 | 2186 | 1 | 0 |
His ability to perform in the Premier League also remains unproven.
He hardly set the league on fire during his loan spell at Everton. Last season, he scored once and registered zero assists in 38 appearances. If Leeds are going to stand a chance at surviving, they’ll need a winger who can contribute more than that.
Farke has been aggressive in the transfer market so far. The most recent signing, Anton Stach, is arguably his biggest coup yet, but his reliance on Harrison in pre-season highlights the need to invest in a proven winger before the season begins.
