‘It’s Victor Orta’, ‘Brilliant’: Some Leeds fans react to official Brighton post about Ben White

Here’s a heart-warming story for these strange times.

Leeds fan Daniel Auton wrote a letter to Brighton & Hove Albion asking the club if they would sell Ben White (his favourite player) to Leeds at the end of the season.

He was willing to hand over all of his savings, which totalled £15.07 to help seal the deal.

Rather charmingly, Brighton wrote a letter back thanking Daniel for the letter but saying, “We have given your kind offer the serious consideration it deserves but I know our head coach Graham Potter, and our technical director, Dan Ashworth, both consider Ben to be a very important part of our future plans so I’m afraid we are unable to sell Ben to Leeds United at this time.”

Spoilsports.

Brighton posted the letters on its official Twitter account on Saturday morning and they attracted a lot of reaction from Leeds fans.

It’s a brilliant little development that brought a smile to our faces but there is a serious point in there.

Leeds would love to sign Ben White at the end of the season and appreciate they would probably have to put a ‘m’ on the end of Daniel’s offer to make it happen.

The response from Brighton is the same line that’s been said about White before and plenty of fans on the south coast joined the thread and are expecting to see White at their club next season.

We hope that doesn’t happen.
