Inter Milan want to sign Junior Firpo as Leeds United transfer news drops

Inter Milan want to sign Leeds United defender Junior Firpo this summer, according to Calciomercatoweb.

Described as a left-handed “surprise”, it appears as though the Italian giants are ready to make their move for the Spaniard to replace Robin Gosens at the San Siro.

It is reported that Inter are ready to sacrifice the German international to make their move for the man who has split opinion during his time at Elland Road.

With Leeds still at risk of relegation out of the Premier League, the likes of Inter are ready to take advantage of that should it happen across the next couple of months.

The Italian side are ready to embrace Firpo already, although it may depend on the sale of Gosens as well as the Whites being in the Championship next season.

No chance.

Things will obviously change as things move along, but right now, everyone is concentrating on matters on the pitch, not things like transfers off it.

Firpo is finally getting a string of games under Javi Gracia, and it appears to be benefitting him after being plagued by injuries since arriving from Barcelona.

The left-back has proven that he offers much more going forward than Pascal Struijk, and he has delivered three points already with his winner against Southampton.

Gracia will not likely have any say on anything such as transfers right now due to his temporary contract, with the divisional status of the club likely to make a difference.

If Leeds stay in the Premier League, they can concentrate on building their squad, rather than seeing it picked apart by the best bidders taking their talent.

There is already a lot riding on these next 12 games, and the stakes are getting higher with each passing week.
