Injury update emerges as Jamie Shackleton misses Leeds United v Leicester City clash

The reason has been shared as Jamie Shackleton missed the Leeds United v Leicester City clash on Friday, 3 November, at Elland Road.

According to Leeds Live, the midfielder cum right-back was not in the matchday squad due to a gluteal injury.

He joins Djed Spence and Stuart Dallas on the injury list at Elland Road.

Hoping for the best

In a worst-case scenario, a football player could sustain a severe tear or strain of the gluteal muscles.

This can result in significant pain, loss of strength, and potentially a long recovery period and it remains to be seen what Shackleton’s issue is.

His injury was not revealed by Daniel Farke in the pre-match press conference so it’s something that happened recently.

The 24-year-old started the 4-1 victory over Huddersfield Town and the expectation was that he would be named in the playing XI against Leicester City as well.

It remains to be seen if seen if he’s available for the next game against Plymouth Argyle but it seems like he should be.

He’ll be a good option at right-back for that one and if he’s fit he should be brought back into the eleven.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
