Injury latest emerges as five stars could miss out in Manchester City vs Leeds United

Leeds United will welcome Manchester City to Elland Road for their latest Premier League clash on Saturday evening.

The Whites will play host to Pep Guardiola’s men at Elland Road as the Citizens look to make it nine unbeaten in all competitions.

The hosts will be keen to get back to winning ways after their draw last time around, but things won’t be easy against the 10-time Premier League champions.

City secured a 2-1 victory against Newcastle United in their last outing and will be hopeful of replicating that away in Yorkshire.

As Leeds and Daniel Farke look to secure a surprise victory in LS11, MOT Leeds News has rounded up the latest injury news for both outfits.

Leeds United could be without one star at Elland Road

Compared to where Leeds have been at different times this campaign, they are looking positive on the injury front.

The only first-team ace in the treatment room at Thorp Arch right now is Noah Okafor, as he continues to suffer from a hamstring injury.

The Switzerland international was forced off against Birmingham City in the FA Cup and looks unlikely to return until mid-March.

Gabriel Gudmundsson was the only other problem against Aston Villa, but he looks set to return to his best against City after illness.

Farke confirmed that the full-back has recovered and has been passed fit before Guardiola and Co. come to town.

Manchester City could miss four stars vs Leeds

Things are slightly worse for the Premier League title challengers, with four stars potentially set to miss the clash at Elland Road.

Mateo Kovacic and Josko Gvardiol are guaranteed to be absent from LS11 after facing long-term spells on the sidelines.

The midfielder will likely be out until the end of the campaign, while his fellow countryman could make a return late in May.

There are question marks hanging over City’s other two problems with Max Alleyne and Jeremy Doku being assessed before the Leeds match.

The young defender is recovering from a knock, while Doku has been missing since late January, but could return at Elland Road.
